„Wrought Oak“ bed – a superior combination of forging and carpentry
The „Wrought Oak“ bed is a superior combination of 2 craftsmanships – forging and carpentry. The unique design of this piece is born after we completed a long search of the best possible way of fusing wrought iron and 100% sustainable natural wood slabs.
This bed is a fine mixture of stability and elegance. The headboard incorporates a massive oak slab with thickness of 4 cm. We have preserved the natural texture and live edges of the wood in order to give the bed an eccentric and distinctive look, which is enhanced by the wrought iron elements – forged in fire and bent by hand.
What makes each oak slab unique are the imperfections. We decided to fill each crack of the wood with black epoxy resin so that the bed is even stronger and more artistic. The wood is finished with bio oils and natural waxes to a satin-touch smooth and durable finish.
The iron frame is painted in black. We can offer a finish with fist class patina – either golden, silver or copper in color.
Over the years we have heard a lot of people complain about the bed slats that are available for purchase. That is why our slats are incorporated in the bed frame itself with a solid technique, designed by our master blacksmith. We use only the strongest elastic beech lamellas (68mm wide 10mm thick). The space between the slats and the floor is 28 cm – ideal for storage.
